Ladies’ Auxiliary

Ladies' Auxiliary crest

The Ladies’ Auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 296 is a dedicated volunteer group that plays a vital role in supporting the work of the Legion and strengthening community life in Harriston. The Auxiliary is a non-profit organization that works closely with the Legion on fundraisers, events, and programs that honour Veterans, support their families, and contribute to community well-being

Originating from efforts during the First World War to assist wounded Veterans and their families, the Ladies’ Auxiliary continues that tradition of service by supporting Legion objectives and activities. Members provide financial and volunteer support to many branch programs, such as Remembrance Day events, the Poppy Campaign, community fundraisers, hall functions, and more.

The Ladies’ Auxiliary of Branch 296 was first formed in 1947, with J.V. Keighly serving as its first president. The Ladies’ Auxiliary has played a vital role in the success, operation, and financial support of Branch 296 ever since.
